Events & Trends that Affected Friends in Series 1 (94/95)

I researched into trends and events of 1994 and 1995 to see if Friends followed any of them or mentioned them. This is the key ones I found:

Ethnicity & Race on Friends

I thought it was interesting point that all of the 6 main characters are white. I found a  video listing all the black characters in Friends, although clearly made for comedy purposes, I think it proves the point that  all the black characters were side characters with few lines and it pushes me to raise the issue of why?

Which episodes to look at? - Ideas

I have 4 ideas of which episodes I will look at when researching and writing my EPQ. The ideas are below:   

 At the moment, I think the most plausible ideas are idea 1 (3 Episodes) and idea 3 (An episode from every other series) for the reasons explained and because I think they will make the most interesting project.
